The Town Public Library often makes some promotions of literature, art and culture.

STANISŁAW GROCHOWIAK DAYS (January, September)

The library organizes some performances devoted to life and literary output of the patron,these are: poetic evenings, sung poetry evenings and meetings with friends of Grochowiak.

THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF A BOOK FOR CHILDREN AND THE WORLD-WIDE DAY OF A BOOK AND COPYWRIGHTS (April)

Annually, the library organizes exhibitions, promotions of publishers, author’s meetings and contests. The Days of Literature and scenarios of performances are changeble. The constant parts of it are the literary evenings with local writers called “Leszno Parnas” and literary contests called “A print of Leszno in literature”.

THE CONTEST OF CONVIVAL POETRY (September)

The evening of simposia poetry linked with the contest for the audience’s prize.

THE POETRY IN AUTUMN (October)

Through 12 years The Library was organizing meeting with literature during The International Poetic November. Since 2000 The Library has been organizing the cycle called “The poetry in Autumn” (author’s meetings, poetic evenings, exhibitions).

FAMILY EVENINGS 
(from October until March, once a month) Collateral performances for children (5-6 years old) and their parents.

THE LITERARY CAFE (once a month)
Author’s evenings, promotions of books, verbal and musical spectacles.

AROUND THE GLOBE (once in two months)
Meetings for children and teenagers with travellers, people who live abroad, students of foreign collages. 

THE POETIC DUTIES (once a quarter)
Individual creative activities for teenagers and adults who write literature.

THE CONTEXTS ( once a quarter)
Meetings devoted to the cultures of european countries, their traditions, habits and history.

THE MEETINGS AT THE EXHIBITION (once a quarter)
Meetings organized while displaying some posters connected with an author or a subject.

EXHIBITIONS
The exhibitions in “The Gallery behind the shelves” and “The Cellar Gallery” (exhibitions of posters, paintings, artistic fabric, photos, postcards, books, local collectors’ works, presentations of the administrative districts and others).
